LJUBLJANA, Aug 10 (Hina) - The co-chairman of the Croatian-Slovene
commission for cross-border trade, Aleksander Gerzina, told Slovenia's news
agency STA on Tuesday why an agreement on a fishing code with Croatia was not
reached at a commission's meeting last Friday.
According to him, an agreement was not reached because Croatian
representatives had additional proposals which clashed with the agreed.
He said Croatia proposed that the two governments sign an agreement on
avoiding police control.
Croatia was ready to extend the fishing code only under those terms, which
came to us as a surprise, Gerzina said and added that such an agreement was
unacceptable for Slovenia.
