VIENNA, Feb 15 (Hina) - The Austrian-Croatian Culture and Sports
Community, which consists of and coordinates the work of 20 Croat
clubs and three folklore societies, held the 13th Croatian Ball in
Vienna on Saturday.#L#
The association, established in 1990, has become the umbrella
organisation of Croats living and working in Vienna. One of its most
important events is the Croatian Ball, a traditional cultural event
presenting the customs and unity of Vienna Croats, the association's
president Blasko Papic said.
Opening the event, Croatia's Ambassador to Austria, Drazen Vukov
Colic, said that Austria had always been ahead of European time in
supporting Croatia, with its humanitarian assistance, record-high
direct and other investments, and permanent support to Croatia's
efforts to join the EU.
The event was held under the auspices of the president of the National
Council of the Austrian Parliament, Andreas Kohl, and the Croatian
Embassy in Vienna.
