The traditional event, organised by the Burgenland Croats' Cultural
Society in Vienna (HGKD), was opened by the society's chairman, Stefan
Pauer.
Croatia's Ambassador to Austria, Drazen Vukov Colic, who attended the
event, described the Ball of Burgenland Croats as a major cultural
event for Croat minorities in central Europe. He said he was glad to
see an increasing number of young people at the ball every year.
Croatia's Ambassador to Slovakia, Andrea Gustovic - Ercegovac, who was
at the ball for the first time, commended the organisers for inviting
ethnic Croats from Hungary and Slovakia to the ball, too.
