ZAGREB, Jan 6 (Hina) - Genoa, which is together with the French city of Lille the European Capital of Culture in 2004, will host an international conference on children in the Mediterranean from 7 to 9 January.
ZAGREB, Jan 6 (Hina) - Genoa, which is together with the French city of
Lille the European Capital of Culture in 2004, will host an
international conference on children in the Mediterranean from 7 to 9

The purpose of the conference is to make the society more sensitive to
problems of children in the Mediterranean area. European Commission
President Roman Prodi is expected to address the event.
Participants in the conference, politicians, doctors and other
experts, will discuss health, inter-cultural cooperation and
conditions for life in cities.
The head of the Croatian Pediatricians' Society, Dr. Josip Grguric,
will take part in the Genoa event. He will speak about the experience
from Croatia in efforts to make cities more friendly for children and
to humanise hospital environments in which children suffering from
serious diseases are treated.
