ZAGREB, Jan 5 (Hina) - The new Croatian government met on Monday behind closed doors to appoint state secretaries in four central state offices and a number of other officials in ministries and government offices and to relieve of
duty former officials.

Ante Babic, Miroslav Kovacic, Antun Palaric (a former secretary in the
agriculture ministry) and Grga Ivezic were appointed state secretaries
in the office for development strategy, the office for E-Croatia, the
administration office, and the office for state property management
respectively.
The new head of the government's office for relations with religious
communities is Bozo Biskupic (Culture Minister), who replaced Goran
Granic.
The government's member in charge of national security, who will also
head the council for the co-ordination of security services, is
Interior Minister Marijan Mlinaric.
Jaksa Muljacic was relieved of duty as head of the office for
cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for former
Yugoslavia and appointed assistant minister in the justice ministry,
in charge of cooperation with international criminal courts.
The head of the office of the Prime Minister is Bianca Matkovic, who
has the status of a state secretary.
Ratko Macek was appointed government spokesman and head of the
government's public relations office. His predecessor Sanja Kos was
relieved of duty.
Jagoda Premuzic will remain at the post of secretary of the government
and Andreja Garbijel at the post of her deputy.
The government relieved Ivan Simonovic of duty as Deputy Foreign
Minister, and appointed Hidajet Biscevic and Gordan Bakota state
secretaries at the ministry of foreign affairs.
Ivica Buconjic was appointed state secretary at the ministry of
internal affairs, while Stipe Cacija and Zlatko Gledec were appointed
assistant interior ministers.
Mate Raboteg replaced Arsen Bauk at the post of assistant defence
minister in charge of material resources.
Martina Dalic will be the state secretary at the finance ministry,
while Mladen Barisic will be assistant finance minister at the helm of
the customs administration. The secretary of this ministry will be
Zvonko Sakic.
State secretaries at the ministry of the economy, labour and
entrepreneurship are Vladimir Vrankovic and Vera Babic, who has so far
been an assistant minister.
Snjezana Bagic was appointed a state secretary at the justice ministry
while Boris Koketi was appointed assistant minister. The former deputy
justice minister and assistant justice minister, Miljenko Kovac and
Vanja Bilic respectively, were relieved of duty.
Velimir Bozikov was appointed state secretary at the health and social
welfare ministry while Katja Matijevic and Dubravko Jadro were
appointed assistant health ministers.
The ministry of environmental protection, physical planning and
construction has two state secretaries: Aleksander Russo and Davor
Mrduljas.
The state secretary at the ministry of the sea, tourism, transport and
development is Branko Bacic.
The ministry of science, education and sports has three state
secretaries: Nevio Setic, Zelimir Janjic and Slobodan Uzelac.
Jadran Antolovic, previously assistant culture minister, was appointed
state secretary at the ministry of culture.
