ZAGREB SOLOISTS CELEBRATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF ENSEMBLE

ZAGREB, Jan 6 (Hina) - Zagreb Soloists held a concert in the overcrowded Vatroslav Lisinski hall on Monday evening marking the 50th anniversary of the ensemble's existence.#L# The concert was organised under the auspices of Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic. Before the beginning of that event, a letter sent by Prime Minister Ivo Sanader was read out. The wide repertoire of the ensemble includes baroque, classical, romantic and contemporary works, and they in particular promote the works of Croatian composers. Since their first appearance on the stage in Bjelovar (50 kilometres east of Zagreb) 1954, Zagreb Soloists have so far performed over 3,000 concerts all over the world. (Hina) ms
