The newly-appointed ambassador said that during his term in office he would devote special attention to developing economic relations between the two countries, according to a press release issued by the Croatian President's Office.
Cveticanin said he would seek to redress the trade imbalance with Croatia by presenting what was best in his country.
Mesic said he was happy with the progress made in normalising relations between Serbia and Montenegro and Croatia, and added that keeping the present visa-free regime was of vital importance for the further improvement of bilateral relations.
Mesic underlined the need to individualise the guilt for war crimes committed in the 1990s in order to strengthen the foundations of bilateral relations.
