Relations between Croatia and Serbia and Montenegro are the backbone of relations in the region, Grabar Kitarovic said, thanking the ambassador for his contribution to the development of bilateral relations and pointing to the European prospects of both countries.
Ambassador Simurdic agreed that great progress had been made in bilateral relations and thanked Croatia for constructive cooperation. He said he believed in the Euro-Atlantic prospects of both countries and described Croatia as the engine of integration processes in the region.
Simurdic also spoke of the importance of the position of minorities and the agreement on their protection, stating that political elites in the two countries were sincerely committed to implementing the agreement, the minister's office said.
