The Croatian translation of the textbook "Nature and Society" for third-grade primary school pupils is the first to be printed with the approval of the Serbian Minister of Education, said Ivica Stipic, a member of the Executive Board of the Croatian National Council.
The umbrella organisation of the Croatian minority in Serbia plans to ensure translations of all other textbooks for school children taught according to Croatian curricula before the next school year.
Primary school pupils attending Croatian-language classes in Subotica since 2001 have used textbooks from Croatia.
Some 140 pupils in the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina attend Croatian-language classes, and textbooks for this school year have been provided by the City of Zagreb.
