BELGRADE, Nov 16 (Hina) - Prosecutors at the Special War Crimes
Court in Belgrade on Wednesday started interviews with seven witnesses of
crimes against Serb civilians, committed in the eastern Croatian city of Osijek
in 1991 and 1992. The interviews were held for three days in the
presence of the chief county prosecutor from Osijek, prosecution spokesman
Bruno Vekaric told reporters.
He could not say if interviews had been requested by the Osijek County
Prosecutor's Office or if the witnesses had approached the Belgrade court on
their own to say what they knew about the alleged crimes.
Vekaric said that the witness interviews were the result of improved
cooperation between prosecutors from Croatia and Serbia following a cooperation
agreement signed last year.
