Jovic claimed in the Bosnian edition of Vecernji List daily of Monday the joint protocol envisaged that the road in Bosnia and Herzegovina be inaugurated by him and Bebic. He said he was not allowed to address those present or cut the ribbon and that responsibility lay with Bebic and some sympathisers of Bosnia's Croatian Democratic Union party (HDZ BH) supported by Sanader.
Jovic was quoted as saying that Bebic "can't take the liberty to come to the neighbouring country, there create the protocol of the inauguration and not greet but ignore the country's president. This isn't how relations between two states are built". He ascribed the "oversight to political primitives and agents".
Jovic refused to link the Ravno incident with relations between the Sanader's HDZ, the ruling party in Croatia, and HDZ BH. Jovic is percieved in public as a close associate of HDZ BH leader Dragan Covic.
"That shouldn't have anything to do with such disagreements. Croatia has official authorities. They didn't come here as representatives of the HDZ nor was the road opened for the HDZ," Jovic said.
