SARAJEVO, Oct 18 (Hina) - European Union foreign ministers could adopt a decision on the start of negotiations with Bosnia-Herzegovina on a Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) at a meeting scheduled for 12 December, the British Ambassador in Sarajevo, Mathew Rycroft, has said.

The diplomat was quoted by the local media on Tuesday as saying that the exact date for the adoption of a decision on launching negotiations with Bosnia on the SAA would depend on an internal agreement inside the European Commission and that he expected that this would be on 12 December.

I firmly believe that Bosnia-Herzegovina has embarked on the right path towards the EU although the pace is still too slow, the British ambassador said.

He, however, stressed that the negotiations on the SAA would not be concluded as long as high-profile war crimes indictees, wanted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), were at large.

The international community insists that Bosnia arrest war-time Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic and that Serbia-Montenegro arrest the war-time Bosnian Serb military leader Ratko Mladic.
