"We did not discuss arbitration today, because there was no opportunity," Mesic told reporters.
Mesic said he expected a working meeting with the Slovene president to take place soon, adding that it was now Croatia's turn to organise a meeting in order to discuss all open issues in a working atmosphere.
"The meeting will take place somewhere on the border, and we are yet to fix a date," the Croatian president said.
Drnovsek told reporters on the margins of a summit of Central European presidents in Zagreb on Friday morning that he agreed with Croatia's proposal that the border dispute should be settled through arbitration because all negotiating possibilities had been exhausted.
