This plant is the biggest concrete factory in Rijeka County and one of the biggest in Croatia. The entire greenfield project lasted three years.
The plant applies the highest European standards regarding environment protection.
Holcim managers said today that the company was operating according to concepts of sustainable development.
Holcim (Hrvatska) d.o.o, a leading producer and supplier of products and services for the construction industry, namely cement and concrete, is part of the Swiss Holcim Group which operates in over 70 countries and employs about 61,000 workers. In Croatia Holcim operates on a dozen locations and employs more than 240 people. The annual cement production capacity is 0.9 million tonnes.
Present at today's ceremony were Swiss Ambassador to Croatia Marcus Kaiser and local authorities.
