ZAGREB, Aug 23 (Hina) - Croats spent US$550 million in the first halfof 2005 using MasterCard cards, an increase of 12 per cent on the sameperiod last year, MasterCard Europe said in a statement on Tuesday.
ZAGREB, Aug 23 (Hina) - Croats spent US$550 million in the first half of 2005 using MasterCard cards, an increase of 12 per cent on the same period last year, MasterCard Europe said in a statement on Tuesday.

The credit card company said that 7.35 million transactions had been carried out during the said period, or 1.22 million transactions per month.

On average, Croats spent about $3 million daily, and $1,500 was spent per card in the first six months.

There are 380,000 MasterCard cards in Croatia which can be used at 60,000 locations, according to the statement.
