arrived in Kosovo on Sunday afternoon for his third visit to the province, during which he will inspect the fulfillment of international standards set as a precondition for defining Kosovo's final status.
This is Eide's last visit to Kosovo before he submits to the UN Security Council a report on the fulfillment of international standards and other political aspects of the situation in the province in September. Eide's report is expected to determine to a large extent the start of a process to define Kosovo's final status.
Eide will meet the highest representatives of Kosovo's institutions and the UN Mission in Kosovo. After his visit to Kosovo, he will travel to Belgrade for a two-day visit during which he will hold talks with top Serbian and Serbia and Montenegro officials in charge of the processes in Kosovo.
