BELGRADE, April 15 (Hina) - Membership in the European Union requires meeting all set political criteria, the most important one being full cooperation with the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague, members of committees on European integration of Croatian and Serbia and Montenegro's parliaments agreed at a meeting in Belgrade on Friday. The purpose of the meeting was to exchange experience in the process of integration with the EU.

Members of the two committees stressed the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration, stating that numerous regional initiatives and cooperation facilitated that process, the chairman of the Croatian Sabor's Committee on European Integration, Neven Mimica, said.

The two sides expressed readiness to contribute to integrated border control, that is, to simplifying border control procedure.

The Croatian delegation also met members of the Serbian parliament's committee on European integration. The two sides stressed the need for expanding regional cooperation and giving parliaments a more important role in that process.
