The report on the suspension of the foreign trade agreements with the neighbouring countries was presented by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Adnan Terzic.
Earlier this month, citing Article 13 of the Free Trade Agreement with Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina reintroduced customs on the import of meat, meat products, milk and milk products from Croatia, saying that duty-free imports were threatening domestic agricultural production.
Terzic said that Bosnia-Herzegovina had proposed that teams of experts from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia meet as soon as possible to work on a lasting solution to the problem, but that it was still awaiting a response from Zagreb.
Speaking of reasons for the suspension of the Free Trade Agreement with Serbia and Montenegro, Terzic said that the measure was taken after Serbia violated rules of the 1994 General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). Experts from the two countries have arranged a meeting for April 11 to find a solution to the dispute.
