BELGRADE, April 7 (Hina) - The joint expert working group of Serbia and Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia held its first meeting in Belgrade on Thursday to discuss progress in implementing the Sarajevo declaration on refugee issues, the Serbian Commission for Refugees said in a press release.

The next meeting will be held in Zagreb at the end of April when the trilateral working group will discuss a joint plan to remove obstacles to the return and integration of refugees by the end of 2006.

The Danish Council for Refugees and non-governmental organisations the Serbian Democratic Forum and Praxis organised a meeting in Belgrade on Thursday on the return of refugees to Croatia and resolving of housing issues.

The Croatian assistant minister of maritime affairs, tourism, transport and development, Stanko Janjic, said at the meeting that the Croatian government would make every effort to harmonise its plans with Serbia in compliance with the Sarajevo declaration on regional cooperation in resolving refugee issues.

Steen Norlov of the Danish Council for Refugees said that 65 refugees would depart for Croatia on April 11 with the assistance of his organisation. Since 2000, the Danish organisation has helped about 4,000 refugees to return to their pre-war homes in Croatia.

The Sarajevo declaration on regional cooperation in resolving refugee issues was signed in January 2005.
