The meeting between Prince Haakon and his wife, Princess Mette-Marit, with President Mesic and his wife Milka, lasted about 15 minutes, after which they attended an official lunch.
Earlier in the day President Mesic laid a wreath in Oslo at a monument to 3,000 partisan fighters from the former Yugoslavia, who were killed in Norway during World War II. It is believed that there were 800 Croats among those captured soldiers, who were deported from the former Yugoslavia to Norway for forced labour. The monument to those soldiers was unveiled in 1976 by the then King of Norway, Olav.
Later in the day, Mesic will also meet Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik.
