One of the suspects, a 26-year-old man, was apprehended in his home-town of Bjelovar (60 kilometres east of Zagreb). After that the other suspect, a 25-year-old man who is also from Bjelovar, was arrested in Zagreb, the county police chief, Vitomir Bijelic, said in Rijeka. Later in the day both men will be taken to the investigation centre of the County Court in Rijeka.
The two men are charged with robbery with violence, and one of them is also charged with inflicting serious bodily harm which resulted in the death of the victim, the 71-year-old Bruna Falezza.
The men have criminal records because of property offences and drug abuse.
