At about 20:45 Sunday, the hooligans attacked the van in which the assistant minister and six Serbian Supreme Court judges, who arrived for an official visit to Croatia, were driving at the crossroads of the Street of SR Njemacke and Ukrajinska Street. A group of the hooligans smashed the van's windscreen with a wooden stick and in this accident the assistant minister was injured. When police arrived the attackers dispersed.
Some incidents involving the clubs' supporters started earlier in the day in Zagreb. The police used means of force against the violent fans.
Nevertheless, at about 16:00 hrs Sunday at a crossroads in the centre of Zagreb, dozen Zagreb fans attacked a car carrying three Serbian reporters. One journalist sustained serious injuries, namely he had got his jawbone broken, and two were lightly hurt.
Due to incidents when local football hooligans attacked Partisan Belgrade handball players and a group of Serbian journalists in Zagreb, the match was delayed for more than hour. However, no incidents occurred during the game.
The police will give more information about yesterday's incidents at a press conference on Monday.
