LJUBLJANA, April 6 (Hina) - Slovene Prime Minister Janez Jansa on Wednesday said that the meeting of Slovene and Croatian government officials that he and his Croatian counterpart Ivo Sanader had discussed at a recent meeting would take place as soon as the texts of a declaration on the avoidance of border incidents and an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation were harmonised.

Jansa held a news conference on the results of his government in the first months of its term.

Asked about relations with Croatia and preparations for the meeting of the two countries' government officials, which is expected to be held soon, Jansa said the two documents that were being drafted had to be harmonised first.

"We are harmonising the agreements on the avoidance of border incidents and double taxation. Once they are adjusted, it will be the right moment for the two governments to meet," he said.

Commenting on the situation inherited from the previous government, Jansa said that one of the few areas where his government did not have any objections was Slovenia's international position, which he said was good. He added though that the former government had left too many outstanding issues in relations with Croatia and made mistakes by reacting too harshly to some border incidents that happened before last year's elections.
