According to figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics (DZS) last week, prices of goods and services in personal consumption, measured by CPI, rose 1.1 percent in February as against January this year. The rise at the annual level was 3.3 percent.
This rise in consumer prices in February was ascribed to a 4.5-percent increase in prices of food and nonalcoholic beverages. For instance, prices of meat and meat products climbed 7.6 percent and those of vegetables 7.4 percent.
The Central Bureau of Statistics reported that consumer prices increased 1.4 percent in February in comparison to December 2004.
