"The tragic events must not repeat," read a statement issued by the UN Civil Administrator on Wednesday evening, on the occasion of ethnically motivated conflicts in March 2004, the biggest conflicts since the arrival of international forces in Kosovo in 1999.
Petersen said Kosovo was now facinf a clear path of implementing international standards, notably those referrinf to better living conditions for minorities.
The implementation of standards primarily refers to the improvement of living conditions for Kosovo Serbs their right to protection, return and freedom of movement and security, Petersen underlined.
