Haradinaj, 36, was one of the leaders of the now defunct Kosovo Liberation Army. He told reporters after the government session that he was travelling to The Hague on Wednesday to voluntarily surrender to the tribunal.
Haradinaj said that he felt completely innocent, describing the indictment as politically motivated. He did not reveal details of the indictment.
Haradinaj called on the international community to speed up post-war processes in the province and to recognise Kosovo as an independent state as soon as possible, stressing that it was inevitable.
Hardinaj has spent 100 days in office as head of government.
The UN peacekeeping mission in Kosovo said in a statement that an additional 500 troops had arrived from Britain on Monday and that they had been assigned patrol duty in the Pristina area.
