The workshop has been organised by the Croatian Justice Ministry in cooperation with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime. Its main purpose is advancement of regional cooperation through exchange of data on the adjustment and implementation of international legal instruments for the prevention of terrorism and crime and fight against transnational organised crime.
Croatia's Interior Ministry, Office for the Prevention of Corruption and Organised Crime, and Foreign Ministry have also helped in the organisation of the workshop.
The workshop will pool participants from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Croatia, as well as representatives of the Council of Europe, the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, Eurojust, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Interpol, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Southeast European Cooperation Initiative, the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe, and the International Organisation for Migration.
The conclusions of the workshop will form the basis of a Zagreb Declaration.
