According to a statement issued by a Serbian Government, during talks with Justice Minister Zoran Stojkovic, Gvoro decided to voluntarily surrender to the Hague tribunal "in order to help his people and the country"
On his trip to The Hague, Gvero was accompanied minister Loncar.
The Serbian government said it would provide all necessary guarantees to enable general Gvero's provisional release pending trial..
According to the electronic media in Belgrade, the ICTY on Thursday unsealed the indictment against Gvaro which charges him, together with former Serbian Army officer Radivoj Miletic, with crimes against Muslims in Srebrenica and Zepa in 1995.
