ZAGREB, Feb 22 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjeapn Mesic on Tuesday
received letters of credence from three new ambassadors to Croatia: Luis
Barreiros of Portugal, Samuel Amehou of Benin and Celso Marcos Vieira de Souza
of Brazil, the Office of the President said in a press release.The Portuguese Ambassador said his country was in favour of Croatia
joining the European Union as soon as possible, and added that Croatia could
count on Portugal's firm support in the forthcoming EU membership
negotiations.
Receiving credentials from Benin's Ambassador, Mesic said he supported
the enhancement of bilateral cooperation.
The Brazilian Ambassador said his government intended to intensify
relations with Croatia.
