"I am aware of the challenges on this path but I have never been afraid of them or of hard work," Polancec told reporters on Thursday after he took part in a government session for the first time.
Polancec said that he would soon form a team of close aides and that he would closely cooperate with various institutions, including the National Competitiveness Council, the Faculty of Economics and the Economy Institute while being in office.
The new Health and Social Welfare Minister, Neven Ljubicic, announced the continuation of the reform in public health and bringing the spending in this sector into order.
The new Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic, told reporters that the ministry would continue to focus on the country's bid to enter the European Union and join Euro-Atlantic integration processes.
Full attention will also be devoted to bilateral relations with EU members, the United States, China, the Russian Federation and neighbours.
