The inauguration will be attended by presidents Svetozar Marovic of Serbia and Montenegro, Branko Crvenkovski of Macedonia, Alfred Moisiu of Albania, Traian Basescu of Romania, Georgi Parvanov of Bulgaria, Ivan Gasparovic of Slovakia, Aleksander Kwasniewski of Poland, and the three members of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina - Dragan Covic, Sulejman Tihic and Borislav Paravac.
The new Ukrainian president Viktor Yushchenko announced his attendance in principle when he met President Mesic at a recent ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp.
More statesmen are expected to attend the ceremony, but they are yet to confirm their attendance.
After he is sworn in as the new Croatian president before Constitutional Court president Petar Klaric, President Mesic will hold an inaugural speech. After the inauguration ceremony, a reception will be held at the Dverce palace where Mesic will receive congratulations from representatives of legislative, executive and judicial authorities and foreign delegations.
The President's Office will inform the public about the protocol of the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday.
