Mesic and Sanader ask for intensification of measures so as to find Gen. Gotovina

ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic and PrimeMinister Ivo Sanader on Tuesday held talks on Croatia's cooperationwith the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia(ICTY), including all measures and activities which are being taken soas to solve the case of the runaway general Ante Gotovina, the Officeof the President of the Republic said in a press release.
ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Tuesday held talks on Croatia's cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), including all measures and activities which are being taken so as to solve the case of the runaway general Ante Gotovina, the Office of the President of the Republic said in a press release.

During the talks it has been confirmed that all information, checking and facts which competent services have so far collected indicate that general Gotovina is not on territory of the Republic of Croatia, the press release read.

President Mesic and Prime Minister Sanader ask all competent bodies of the state administration, including intelligence agencies, the Interior Ministry and the Chief State Prosecutor's Office, to continue and intensify to the maximum all necessary measures and activities, in line with their legal and professional obligations and also in cooperation with relevant services of other countries, so as to find the whereabouts of General Ante Gotovina, arrest him and transfer him to the ICTY in The Hague.

The Croatian President and PM confirmed the full and unquestionable readiness of the state administration to continue consistently to meet commitments from the Constitutional Law on Croatia's cooperation with the ICTY, the press release concluded.
