MPs adopted a report on the implementation of the national strategy for the prevention of drug abuse in 2002 and 2003. The government was bound to consider the possibility of introducing a separate school class to teach students about the dangers of addiction to drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. The class would also teach sexual education.
The government was also bound to adjust the national strategy to European standards and submit a draft strategy to parliament in a month.
Parliament adopted a strategy for the development of Croatia's official statistics in the 2004-12 period, a programme and implementation plan of statistical activities between 2004 and 2007, and the statute of the Postal Services Council.
MPs also adopted annual reports on the work od Hina's Steering Council, the Market Competition Protection Agency, the Financial Agency, the Council for the Regulation of Energy Activities, and the National Higher Education Council, while taking note of the report on the work of the Croatian Small Enterprise Agency.
Parliament gave the commission probing the operation of Viktor Lenac shipyard an additional month and a half to complete its task.
Parliament resumes its 12th session next Wednesday. Speaker Vladimir Seks said parliament would not sit next Friday due to the inauguration of President Stjepan Mesic.
