SARAJEVO, Feb 14 (Hina) - A member of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sulejman Tihic, has voiced concern about announcements from the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ BH) that it would support an out-of-court settlement instead of a trial of Serbia and Montenegro before the International Court of Justice for aggression and genocide in Bosnia.

"I am worried about their statements. I'm afraid this is about some secret arrangements to the detriment of Bosnia-Herzegovina and that those arrangements have roots in some political forces in neighbouring countries," Tihic said in an interview published in Sarajevo-based Dnevni Avaz daily on Monday,

"This unfortunately shows that the HDZ has not yet abandoned the policy of forming coalitions with forces working against the interests of Bosnia-Herzegovina", such as the Serb Democratic Party (SDS), Tihic said, adding that this was the reason why he had doubts about the HDZ urging constitutional changes in Bosnia.

"I entirely support the lawsuit and I will most definitely use all legal mechanisms if attempts are made to jeopardise it suit," the Bosniak member of the state presidency said.

Tihic also opposed the possibility of accelerated transfer of power in Bosnia to domestic political forces, as High Representative Paddy Ashdown announced last week when he proposed that more power be given to the Bosnian Constitutional Court.

Tihic said he was surprised at Ashdown's statement.

"I believe that such proposals come from political forces which oppose the implementation of reforms. I believe that the international community, namely the Office of the High Representative, needs to stay in Bosnia until the completion of constitutional amendments," Tihic said.
