Miksic made the claim during the presidential campaign late last year.
Mesic filed the civil action with Cedo Prodanovic, a Zagreb attorney who sued Miksic for slander and demanded damages to the amount of 60,000 kuna.
Mesic said earlier that he would give the money from the damages to a children's home in Zagreb.
Mesic announced the lawsuit shortly after Miksic made the claim. Miksic then said he was only joking and that he thought Mesic too liked to joke.
"It seems that Mesic is constantly making jokes about others but doesn't like it the other way round," Miksic said on that occasion.
