The event was attended by Croatian and Serbian officials and representatives of local Croat associations.
A state secretary at the Croatian Foreign Ministry, Gordan Bakota, said this and similar projects related to Vojvodina Croats would enjoy Croatia's support and added that he expected the Serbian authorities to make it possible for ethnic Croats to have a TV programme in their own language.
An envoy for the Serbian prime minister, Petar Ladjevic, said that the issue of a Croatian-language TV programme would be solved soon.
Subotica-based "Hrvatska rijec" weekly has a circulation of several thousand copies and it is sold all over Vojvodina and in predominantly Croat areas.
