ZAGREB, Jan 19 (Hina) - French President Jacques Chirac, GermanPresident Horst Koehler, Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and formerForeign Minister Hans Dietrich Genscher have congratulated CroatianPresident Stjepan Mesic on his recent re-election, Mesic's office saidin a press release on Wednesday.
ZAGREB, Jan 19 (Hina) - French President Jacques Chirac, German President Horst Koehler, Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and former Foreign Minister Hans Dietrich Genscher have congratulated Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on his recent re-election, Mesic's office said in a press release on Wednesday.

Chirac said in his note, among other things, he was confident that Mesic's second term in office would contribute to the strengthening of Croatian-French relations and Croatia's admission to the European Union.

Koehler said in his note, among other things, that Germany would continue to support Croatia on its road to the EU.

Genscher said in his note, among other things, he hoped Croatia would join the EU under Mesic's presidency.
