The agency, previously based in Vienna, moved to Zagreb. Its objective is the modernisation of education systems.
Croatia will receive 150,000 euros annually for the work of the agency and will have to set aside 300,000 kuna from the national budget as well.
At the closed-door part of today's session the Government appointed Assistant European Integration Minister Tamara Obradovic secretary of the negotiating team for admission to the European Union.
The Government also appointed the governing council of the Science and Higher Education Agency.
Also today the Government gave its consent to the Croatian Soccer Federation to apply for the organisation of the EURO 2012 championships alongside the Hungarian Soccer Federation. The application must be sent by January 31.
