one of the most active NATO members on the international front, Slovene Defence Minister Karl Erjavec said in Pristina on Friday.
LJUBLJANA, Dec 8 (Hina) - A contingent of 530 Slovene soldiers
should be deployed in Kosovo next year, after which Slovenia's armed forces
taking part in international operations would go up from three to 11 percent,
making Slovenia one of the most active NATO members on the international front,
Slovene Defence Minister Karl Erjavec said in Pristina on Friday.
Preparations are proceeding well, we don't expect any technical difficulties,
Erjavec said after meeting KFOR deputy commander Roberto Bernardini, the
Slovene media reported.
A motorised battalion will be sent to Kosovo in early March 2007. This
will be the first larger Slovene army unit with a NATO certificate.
