"All separatist regions in the world are waiting to see what will happen with Kosovo, which cannot be treated as an exception to the rule and a special case because that would create a precedent with far-reaching consequences," Draskovic said at a press conference in Ljubljana after meeting Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel.
Draskovic said that the Russian Federation supported Serbia in its position, adding that Kosovo's Albanians should also demonstrate a readiness for "a maximum compromise" and that Slovenia could act as a mediator in such an effort.
Rupel said that Draskovic represented democratic forces in Serbia and that Slovenia was ready to support their efforts to get Serbia closer to the European Union.
Draskovic also met Prime Minister Janez Jansa, who welcomed the adoption of the new Serbian Constitution.
