The session continued with discussions on a total of 322 amendments tabled by MPs. The government said on Thursday that none of them would pass as they were "unfounded and unrealistic".
Under the adopted amendments, seriously disabled persons will not have to pay road taxes and tolls in 2007. The costs will be calculated by the highway authorities and covered from the budget.
Parliament adopted the government's proposal that the 20,000 kuna would be deducted from the Ministry of Finance's expenditure for issuing securities.
The government increased allocations to the Council for National Minorities by 2.3 million kuna and ensured one million kuna more for the construction of new student centres. It also earmarked 1.5 million kuna for a monument commemorating patients from the Vukovar hospital killed by Serb forces in 1991, and diverted 23.7 million kuna from the University of Rijeka to the newly-founded University of Pula.
Two million kuna was also reallocated for certain Ministry of Health projects whose implementation would intensify in 2007.
At the start of the session, eight more items were added to the agenda, including a proposed decision on the participation of Croatian army troops in the NATO-led mission in Afghanistan and a report on participation in that mission from March 1 to October 31 this year.
The government proposed that the number of Croatian troops participating in the mission should be increased to 300 in 2007 and to 400 in 2008, citing efforts to achieve strategic national goals, notably membership of the European Union and NATO.
