ZAGREB, Nov 2 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian Parliament's Committee on Gender Equality, Gordana Sobol, took part in a three-day conference organised by the Network of Parliamentary Committees for Equal Opportunities for Women and
Men in the European Union (NCEO) that ended on Wednesday in Helsinki, the Croatian Parliament's Public Relations Office said in a statement on Thursday.
ZAGREB, Nov 2 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian Parliament's
Committee on Gender Equality, Gordana Sobol, took part in a three-day
conference organised by the Network of Parliamentary Committees for Equal
Opportunities for Women and Men in the European Union (NCEO) that ended on
Wednesday in Helsinki, the Croatian Parliament's Public Relations Office said
in a statement on Thursday. The conference was attended by
representatives of gender equality committees from EU member states, the
Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly, the European Parliament and EU
candidate countries. The event was also attended by the president of Finland,
the current EU chair.
Sobol participated in a debate on a campaign to fight violence against
women and a debate on unequal salaries of men and women.
The conference also tackled the position of women refugees in today's
Europe, women in armed conflicts and a UN resolution on women, peace and
security.
