The prime minister discussed with the ambassadors the progress of Croatia's membership negotiations with the European Union and its efforts to join NATO. He also spoke of his successful official visit to Washington and meetings with senior US officials.
Sanader informed the ambassadors about the reforms his government was implementing and the activities of all institutions in the country in combating bribery, corruption and organised crime.
Also mentioned was the successful completion of the stand-by arrangement with the International Monetary Fund, which Sanader said confirmed a high level of control of public finances and the effectiveness of the implemented reforms, the statement said.
