"Luxembourg and Slovenia believe it is good for the European Union to continue the enlargement process, particularly to include the Western Balkans," Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel said after meeting his Luxembourg counterpart Jean Asselborn in Ljubljana.
Asked at a joint press conference if they discussed outstanding issues between Slovenia and Croatia, Asselborn said that Croatia would become a member of the European Union one day and that the EU did not like to burden itself with bilateral issues between countries.
Asselborn said it was a Slovene-Croatian problem and not a European one and that he believed it could be settled before Croatia's admission to the bloc. It's not such a big problem that it couldn't be solved bilaterally, he said.
