Wallstroem is also Commissioner for Institutional Relations and Communication Strategy.
Grabar Kitarovic said that Croatian surveys indicated that Euroscepticism was more frequent among young people than in the older population, which she said was why Croatia would focus on young people in the future.
Wallstroem said that investments would have to be made and contact established between civil society in EU member-countries, on one side, and Croatia, on the other, to try and change the perception of young people who were critical towards the EU, sometimes due to lack of information and lack of a contact network.
Grabar Kitarovic welcomed the latest Eurobarometer survey which shows that the percentage of EU citizens supporting Croatia's EU entry was higher than their general support to the further EU enlargement (56 percent against 45 percent).
During her day-long visit to Brussels, the Croatian minister also spoke before the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee and met with Committee chairman Elmar Brook.
