Mesic said the possibility of organising the next elections differently was a completely different issue.
He underlined that people in Bosnia and Herzegovina must learn that candidates from national parties would not always win. "Tomorrow this will happen to Bosniaks and the day after tomorrow to Serbs, depending on how the democratic process develops."
Mesic said Bosnian Croats had not been divided by Serbs or Bosniaks but by themselves and that the outcome were the recent election results. "Their policy of division into several Croat parties has led to such results."
He concluded that this was not necessarily bad, saying that Bosnia and Herzegovina must start functioning as a civil state in which all three peoples -- Croats, Bosniaks, Serbs -- would be protected.
