On June 6 Lajolo is scheduled to meet President Stjepan Mesic, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, and Grabar-Kitarovic. He will also give a talk on Vatican diplomacy at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
Monsignor Lajolo is visiting Croatia also on the occasion of Croatian Diplomacy Day, which is observed on June 7 and is related to June 7, 879, when Pope John VIII informed Prince Branimir in a letter that he recognised his rule over Croatia, which played an outstanding role in the realisation of Croatia's independence, the ministry said.
