ZAGREB, May 29 (Hina) - The president of Croatia's Social Democratic Party, Ivica Racan, took part in Sofia on Monday in a Party of European Socialists conference on the prospects of Southeast European and western Balkan countries of
joining the European Union.
ZAGREB, May 29 (Hina) - The president of Croatia's Social
Democratic Party, Ivica Racan, took part in Sofia on Monday in a Party of
European Socialists conference on the prospects of Southeast European and
western Balkan countries of joining the European Union. The event
pooled Social Democrat prime ministers, ministers and party presidents from the
region and the EU, as well as representatives of the PES.
Racan gave a talk on the western Balkans on the road to integration
with the EU. He spoke of Croatia's experience in drawing closer to the EU and
its accession negotiations, and held meetings with Serbian President Boris
Tadic, Macedonian Prime Minister Vlado Buckovcski, and numerous other
officials.
