ZAGREB, May 31 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament Vice President Mato
Arlovic on Wednesday received a delegation of the State Council of the People's
Republic of China for talks on legislative and institutional solutions for
issues related to national minorities in the two countries, parliament said in
a statement. The two sides said Croatia and China had virtually the
same percentage of national minorities, and underlined that the exchange of
experiences was a good step in the exercise of their rights in multiethnic and
multiconfessional states.
The president of the Chinese government Commission, Li Dezhu, said that
although Croatia and China had their specific characteristics, they shared
similar ideas in politics and laws regulating national minority issues.
Arlovic concluded by saying that members of different peoples were one
of the bridges of cooperation among states.
