Leigh also met the state secretary for political issues, Hido Biscevic, who briefed him about Croatia's activities in meeting the political criteria for EU membership.
The EC delegation was informed of the progress achieved in the reforms of the state administration and the judiciary, the anti-corruption policy, war crimes trials before national courts, national minorities' rights, refugee return, and media-related issues.
It was jointly assessed that Croatia is making constant progress in meeting the political criteria for EU membership and that it significantly contributes to the strengthening of regional cooperation in accordance with the EU's policy.

The EC delegation applauded Croatia's activities in solving outstanding issues with neighbours and confirmed that they are not an obstacle to Croatia's accession to the EU, but underlined that it is necessary to continue with bilateral efforts in finding final solutions.
